世衛：戶外空汙是致癌主要因子

世界衛生組織今天將戶外空氣汙染列為人類致癌主要因素，並表示有足夠證據顯示戶外空汙可導致肺癌，並提高膀胱癌的風險。

世界衛生組織國際癌症研究中心 （IARC）科學家史崔夫（Kurt Straif）說：「我們呼吸的空氣已受到各種致癌物質汙染。」

他表示：「我們現在已知，戶外空氣汙染不只在整體上對健康造成重大風險，也是造成癌症死亡的主要環境因素。」

國際癌症研究中心說，一組頂尖專家已發現「足夠證據」，這些證據顯示暴露在戶外空汙可導致肺癌，並提高膀胱癌的風險。

國際癌症研究中心說，儘管空汙組成和暴露程度因地而有很大不同，其研究結論適用全球各個地區。

空氣汙染已知可提高呼吸道和心臟疾病的風險。

國際癌症研究中心主任魏德（Christopher Wild）說，決定將戶外空汙列為人類致癌因素，是朝警告各國政府空汙的危險和其潛在成本踏出重要一步。
