【綜合報導】現年54歲的大衛愛德華班尼斯和現年80歲的女友，在佛州同居已有3年，16日那天大衛突然抓起女友，將女友壓倒在地，表示要幫她進行驅魔儀式，大衛接著還將女友關起來，將女友手機電池拔掉，不讓她打電話求救，還拿走她的車鑰匙，並破壞車庫門鎖，防止女友脫逃。

17日女友睡醒，大衛繼續對女友執行驅魔儀式，所幸女友最後成功報警，警方趕到發現她坐在屋外哭泣，身上都是瘀青和抓痕，班尼斯則是醉倒在沙發上，班尼斯聲稱他醉到什麼都不記得了，不過他還記得因為女友中邪一直打他，他是為了防身才反擊。警方最後將班尼斯逮捕拘留，並以非法囚禁他人等罪名起訴。
