童星時代紅遍全美的秀蘭鄧波兒於美國時間10日辭世，享壽85歲。她在舊金山附近的家中自然過世，身旁圍繞著她的家人及護理人員，大家懷著滿滿的愛，送走這位有「大眾小情人」封號的傳奇藝人。

秀蘭鄧波兒出生於1928年，幼時主演多部電影，一頭捲髮的模樣可愛至極，被影迷封為「大眾小情人」。她童星時期的代表作包括「小捲毛」、「小叛逆」等，為美國經濟大蕭條之下的苦悶民眾，帶來歡樂及笑容。

秀蘭鄧波兒能歌善舞、演技出色，1935年、年僅6歲的她獲頒「少年奧斯卡」特別獎，成為首位獲得該獎的童星。她拍過40多部電影，但在21歲息影，後來轉戰政壇，是美國首位女性禮賓司長，也曾任外交工作。日本美術家今竹七郎曾用她為模特兒，設計「小護士」曼秀雷敦商標。
