歐巴馬正式提名包克斯為駐中大使

【李忠謙／綜合外電報導】美國總統歐巴馬昨天正式提名72歲的包克斯（Max Baucus）為駐中大使，接替駱家輝的遺缺。包克斯是民主黨籍的前參議員，在參院擁有超過20年資歷。歐巴馬稱，包克斯對美中關係用力甚深。

包克斯獲提名駐中大使的消息早在美媒傳開，美國「政客」（POLITICO）網站率先披露資訊，儘管白宮與包克斯先前都不願證實，但共和黨官員與參院發言人早就心知肚明。包克斯曾8度訪中、出任國會「中國問題委員會」主席、1990年代還曾推動中國進入世界貿易組織。
