Clayton Kershaw才剛申請薪資仲裁，就傳出和道奇達成一紙7年2.15億美元天價合約，附帶5年後的球員選擇權。

「今天的大贏家就是我，我很高興能在未來繼續接捕最棒的投球，恭喜Kersh！」消息曝光後，捕手A.J.Ellis透過推特恭喜隊友。

在Kershaw之前，投手最大合約是老虎與Justin Verlander簽下的7年1.8億美元合約。

這位2屆賽揚獎得主，不僅創下投手最大合約紀錄，平均年薪突破3070萬美元，成為大聯盟史上第一人。
