第一屆台苯桌球邀請賽決賽卡司出爐，日本好手水谷隼四強戰以4比1的局數淘汰瑞典老將皮爾森，將於5點與莊智淵上演台日對決。

水谷隼為日本近年桌球發展的代表人物，這次讓地主觀眾見識到細膩又變幻莫測的近台戰術，被47歲老將皮爾森拿下第一局後，沒再給對方機會。

不過皮爾森不愧是沙場老將，在最後製造一波驚喜，面對賽末點壓力，把球抽高，開始與水谷隼對抽高彈跳球，觀眾看得大呼過癮。

皮爾森也在賽後表示：「很令人享受的一場比賽，當然我也希望能進到決賽，他給我不少壓力。」他將於今晚搭機離台，因為要趕著回國幫女兒過生日，但與球迷相約明年見。

水谷隼則說，沒想到47歲老將還能有這麼快的速度，他賽前看了一下莊智淵與奧恰洛夫的比賽，覺得莊智淵狀況很好，「我想下一場比賽會很激烈！」
