獲釋美國老兵紐曼 返抵舊金山

因從事「敵對行為」遭北韓逮捕扣押超過1個月的美國老兵紐曼（MerrillE. Newman），被北韓驅逐出境後，今天自北京飛抵舊金山，準備重回家人懷抱。

路透社目擊者說，紐曼搭乘的聯合航空（UnitedAirlines）班機，於上午9時過後不久降落機場。

北韓官方中央通信社（KCNA）稍早前宣佈北韓將現年85歲的紐曼驅逐出境消息。

據報導，紐曼是參加過韓戰的美國老兵，今年10月26日與1位鄰居一起結束為期10天的北韓旅遊後，在平壤順安機場搭機前往中國大陸北京前被捕。

報導說，北韓聲稱紐曼是於韓戰期間屠殺無辜北韓人民的戰犯。北韓中央通信社上月30日公開了紐曼宣讀認罪書的畫面，內容是他反省在韓戰中的犯罪行為。

北韓中央通信社表示，北韓當局基於人道理由釋放紐曼，因為他承認犯罪並道歉。
