輪狀病毒感染達高峰期　接種疫苗預防最有效

【邱俊吉／台北報導】氣溫驟降，喜好低溫的輪狀病毒也伺機而動，醫師表示，輪狀病毒感染高峰期已來臨，由於1人感染可連帶傳染20人，因此托嬰中心、幼稚園、家中等密閉場所，最易出現嬰幼兒大規模群聚感染，且成人也有超過3成機率染病，若要預防感染，勤洗手效果有限，接種輪狀病毒疫苗才是最有效方法。
 
葛蘭素史克藥廠今上午捐贈該疫苗給天主教善牧基金會，該會嬰兒之家成立初期，因醫療與人力資源匱乏，嬰兒間經常發生輪狀病毒群聚感染，但近年獲贈、使用疫苗後，嬰兒住院率明顯下降，從2004年的15%，降到近年約1%，也顯示輪狀病毒疫苗奏效。
