【國際中心╱綜合外電報導】美國哈佛大學退休教授，也是著名亞洲通傅高義（Ezra Vogel）傾十年心力完成的巨著《鄧小平時代》（Deng Xiaoping and the Transformation of China，台譯為《鄧小平改變中國》），今年年初於中國出版，但中國版刪去了很多有關1989年天安門民運的內容。

傅高義的《鄧小平時代》英文原著2011年由美國哈佛大學出版，香港中文版去年出版，中國的中文版則延至今年1月才出版。據傅高義對香港《蘋果日報》指出，原因是三聯出版社表示為敲定最後譯本，足足花了一年時間。英文版中指鄧小平在天安門民運如火如荼時，設宴招待到訪的當時的蘇聯領導人戈巴契夫，但鄧小平在國宴上顯得心神不寧，「筷子夾不住餃子」，其他如同情民運的中共前總書記趙紫陽遭軟禁落淚，中國下令全國媒體不准報導「蘇東波」共產政權瓦解等內容，在中國版中全遭刪除。

傅高義指將心血交給中國審查，是不愉快但必須的決定：「著作90%內容能在這裏出版，總好過0%。」
