【綜合報導】最近在西方國家有一股新的流行，就是「新生兒不要立刻切掉臍帶與胎盤」，讓胎盤與臍帶留在嬰兒身上至少1天到10天後再摘除，支持者的理由是「臍帶與胎盤是嬰兒在媽媽的子宮中最常接觸到的兩個部位，暫時不要摘掉可以讓胎兒獲得充分的安全感與熟悉感」。

但專家警告，這樣做一個不小心就可能導致新生兒感染，且絕對可能致命，不可不慎。
