Samsung Mobile Forum 2013: Samsung outlines mobile device development trends

Samsung Electronics held its Samsung Mobile Forum 2013 in Taipei on September 12 with the themes of the event focusing on mobile devices, cloud computing, and energy and environment protections.
The agenda of the forum also addressed the major challenges facing the mobile device industry, including how to further ramp up the performance of CPUs and GPUs with lower power consumption.
Other major topics also included the improvement of memory bandwidth, the enhancement of hardware security and the optimization of total system performance in today's mobile devices.
Digitimes president Colley Huang also delivered a keynote, entitled "The Contenders in Mobile Era: Samsung Lions and Taiwan Foxes," highlighting the fierce competition in the mobile device space.
To showcase the development trend of the mobile device industry, Samsung also unveiled a number of new products, including low power memory devices such as LPDDR3 and eMMC products, its 28nm ARM-based 8-core Exynos 5 Octo 5420 CPUs, 13.3-inch 275ppi 3,200 by 1,800 and 10.1-inch 300ppi 2,560 by 1,600 displays.
