達賴喇嘛低調訪美　出席參院祈禱儀式

美國參議院6日開議，延續2百多年傳統，舉行祈禱儀式，邀請西藏流亡精神領袖達賴喇嘛，主持祈禱，達賴喇嘛還懇請議員們在作所有政治決策時，都應保持純淨的心。

達賴喇嘛先以藏文祝禱，接著再以英文翻譯一次，還謙虛地為自己的破英文道歉「我的發音可能不正確，至少不是美式發音」。

參議院多數黨鞭瑞德（Harry Reid），感謝達賴喇嘛的教誨，並表示光是看到達賴喇嘛本人，就足以鞭策他一言一行都保持純淨的心。
 
達賴喇嘛這趟造訪華府之行，除了參加參院開議祈禱儀式外，還跟眾院議長貝納（John Boehner）以及眾院多數黨鞭派洛西（Nancy Pelosi）會面，不過這次造訪並未事先公開，參眾兩院也未說明這趟行程何時敲定，由誰安排，目前為止北京方面也尚未有任何回應。（周佩萱／綜合外電報導）
