慈濟基金會長期從事國際賑災及人道救援，美國總統歐巴馬近日以親筆函向慈濟創辦人證嚴法師及全球慈濟人獻上最誠摯的祝福與感恩，對慈濟跨越海洋、種族的大愛善行深表感動。

2012年美國東岸遭逢桑迪風災侵襲，全球慈濟志工立即以行動救助，讓美國災民感受到來自台灣的溫暖。美國總統歐巴馬特別致贈親筆簽名函給慈濟，函中並有歐巴馬全家人共同親筆署名，誠摯感謝慈濟人對美國賑災的付出。（生活中心／台北報導）
