印尼死亡動物園　1公獅「上吊」身亡

【施旖婕／綜合外電報導】印尼東爪哇泗水動物園(Surayaba Zoo)，被喻為是全球最殘酷的動物園，也是動物的死亡地獄。最近就傳出一隻公獅「上吊」身亡，但園方堅稱無人為疏失。

據英國《每日郵報》報導，18個月大的非洲雄獅麥可(Michael)昨日被發現「上吊」死亡。園方初步判定認為，麥可可能在籠內跳躍的時候，不小心把頭套進鐵絲圈，造成「上吊」，而這個鐵絲圈原本是讓管理員進出動物欄舍的一個裝置。但是園方在麥可死後，卻立刻將麥可的遺體移走，讓警方無法驗屍。當局拒絕就動物園是否有意妨礙調查而回應。

該動物園在1916年興建，先前有飼養員透露，光是在過去3個月，園內就有超過50隻動物死亡。
