寒流侵襲，冷風蕭瑟，一名八旬老翁蹲在軍輝橋旁的地上，卻是凍得直打哆嗦，加上又是陰雨綿綿，老翁形狀極為狼狽，由於疑似失智迷途，熱心民眾乃報請嘉義市興安派出所協助處理，受理員警王義進及許捷斐到達現場後，為避免老翁再受風寒，即先將老翁帶返所安置並提供食物讓其飲用。

興安所所長何坤曆表示，經員警向老翁詢問其姓名及基本資料，但老翁因為失智加上重聽，對於員警的詢問一概不知亦無法回答，只能從隻字片語中勉強拼湊出「彥仔」、「中埔」等詞，且老翁身上又沒有攜帶任何身分證件可提供線索，員警只好先把老翁帶往嘉義縣中埔鄉方向找尋，沿路讓老翁辨識路況地標，同時員警通報嘉義市各派出所協助，也在報案地點附近挨家挨戶詢問住戶，無奈還是一無所獲。

何坤曆所長指出，該所員警在歷經三個多小時的辛苦找尋之下，終於從老翁斷斷續續筆跡中，比對出老翁姓名，再透過警政聯網身分查詢，獲知老翁可能住所，並經向嘉義縣水上鄉村長確認後，才終於確定老翁身分，同時也輾轉順利連繫到其家屬，其弟弟之後也趕赴派出所接回老翁，並不斷向警方道謝，感謝警方熱心救助伸援，才能讓其兄平安返家團圓。
