台鐵彰化社頭段車禍騎機車大學生不幸死亡

台鐵位在南彰化田中到社頭路段平交道上，下午發生死亡車禍，一名柳姓機車騎士疑似誤闖柵欄已放下的平交道，與一列北上區間車相衝撞，不幸當場死亡，案發原因警方已報請檢方襄驗；各列車次約延誤一小時候，才恢復正常通車。

鐵路警察局員林派出所表示，這起鐵路平交道死亡車禍，是六號下午三點多，發生在南彰化田中到社頭站之間的路段，一列從集集準備開往彰化的北上區間列車，在行經案發平交道時，發現一輛機車突然闖越已放下簡易柵欄的平交道，緊急鳴笛、同步踩煞車，根本就來不及，導致機車連同騎士飛離有數公尺遠。

案發後緊急指派員警趕往處理，發現摩托車被撞得面目全非，誤闖平交道的柳姓大學生則不幸當場傷重死亡，為了處理突發的死亡事故，造成鐵路交通一度只能維持單線通車，各列車次被延誤約三十分鐘到一個小時，才逐漸恢復正常通車。

至於這起鐵路平交道死亡車禍發生原因，以及責任歸屬，鐵路員警已報請檢方襄驗、並調查釐清。
