今(21日)晨6時左右，台中市西區忠義街一處民宅，突然傳出大火！火勢蔓延波及其他7戶民宅，現場陷入一片火。消防隊接獲通報趕往現場滅火，不少還在睡夢中的居民也因此驚醒。現場一名8歲男童手臂遭二度灼傷，緊急送醫急救，警消在1小時後將火勢撲滅，起火原因仍待調查。

這起火災發生在清晨6時左右，台中市忠義街38巷一處民宅2樓，突然起火燃燒。火勢不斷擴大蔓延，波及其他民宅，其中一名女住戶擔心自家也遭火噬，不斷的哭求警消趕快滅火，直說「快一點，火要燒過來了！」警消趕緊疏散所有住戶，緊急滅火。

火勢在1小時後撲滅，警消表示起火點是在2樓，民宅由於是木造房屋，火勢延燒迅速，才會導致另外7棟民宅也遭波及。不少民眾都還在睡夢中卻因此驚醒，根據《蘋果日報》報導，一名8歲男童雙手遭火勢灼傷，約二度灼傷脫皮；另名81歲老奶奶及時逃生後，一度輕微嗆傷產生胸悶，2人皆已送醫治療；至於起火原因，警消表示仍需進一步調查。
