中正師生吃臘八粥趨寒意　祈來年諸事圓滿

【李宗祐／嘉義報導】為紀念農曆十二月初八佛陀成道日，佛光山嘉義圓福寺於今日天在中正大學行政大樓，準備2000份臘八粥與中正師生歡喜結緣；現場也準備星雲大師墨寶春聯，作為神秘小禮物。
 
圓福寺住持覺禹法師帶領法師及佛光會義工，從凌晨開始便捲起衣袖徹夜熬煮一碗一碗「臘八粥」，並送到中正大學供師生享用。
 
林同學說，「在很冷的天氣裡能喝上一碗熱騰騰的臘八粥，心頭覺得很溫暖。」也有學生表示，從未喝過臘八粥，覺得很新鮮。
 
為了紀念佛陀成道佛教界傳統習慣用白米、青江菜、紅蘿蔔、白果、豆腐或油豆腐、芋頭、花生或黃豆、蓮子等八味料，按比例熬煮成粥供佛，稱為「臘八粥」，用來祈求新的一年平安賀歲。
