音樂大師李泰祥，因長期罹患帕金森氏症，日前又因甲狀腺癌惡化，住進新店慈濟醫院安寧病房，沒想到2日晚卻傳出其病情惡化，已經病逝的消息，享年73歲。

李泰祥出生於台東縣馬蘭鄉，是台東阿美族原住民，由於環境和語言的障礙，小學求學階段過程相當艱辛，勉強自初中畢業，但他卻有音樂天份，無師自通拉小提琴學會了音樂課本裡所有曲子，才12歲就被老師讚譽為天才。

之後他在藝專奠定了良好的音樂基礎，畢業後受聘擔任台北市交響樂團首席小提琴，從此展開其音樂創作生涯。

尤其是在6、70年代，校園民歌風起雲湧之際，李泰祥的民歌，在藝術與通俗之間建立了一座橋梁，豎立獨樹一格風格，包括「橄欖樹」、「錯誤」、「野店」、「歡顏」、「你是我所有的回憶」等燴炙人口的歌曲，特殊的吟唱風格，遊走於流行與學院間，令人一聽難忘。

只可惜他在創作高峰，1988年被診斷罹患帕金森氏症，隨著病情惡化，創作也減少，2008年他獲得國家文藝獎，病情雖然控制住，但卻在去年11月再因甲狀腺癌惡化住院，他的得意門生齊豫，去年12月8日曾到病房探視，沒想到這也是兩人的最後一面。
