十一公尺大佛被指違建 嘉市地藏庵自行拆除

嘉義市九華山地藏庵在活動大樓屋頂安置一尊高達十一點六公尺的巨佛，遭民眾檢舉是違建，危及周邊民宅和居民生命財產安全，事件幾經波折後，廟方已經自行雇工拆除。外傳拆除作業延宕是因為受嘉義市府會惡鬥，拆除預算遭到刪除所影響，廟方回應強調絕無此事，畢竟違建是事實，廟方自會主動拆除，不用花費到任何人民納稅錢。

連同基座高達十一點六公尺的大佛，被安置在嘉義市知名廟宇九華山地藏庵活動大樓頂樓，顯得極為壯觀雄偉，但也因而造成周邊居民安全疑慮。二年前大佛安置後的第四天，嘉義市政府就接獲民眾檢舉，指大佛是違建要求拆除。

九華山地藏庵雖然立即補照，期盼能讓大佛合法化，但最後仍被嘉義市政府裁定為違建。九華山地藏庵指出，大佛其實是玻璃纖維製成，重量只有三百公斤，並非外傳的五公噸，既然被認定為違建，廟方因而決定自行拆除，以化解附近居民疑慮。拆下來的大佛將先暫時安置在廟旁一處空地上，準備重新裝置後，參與明年嘉義市燈會展出。
