巨星殞落 「勞倫斯」彼得奧圖病逝倫敦

經紀人肯尼斯（Steve Kenis）今天表示，愛爾蘭裔演技派老牌男星彼得奧圖（Peter O'Toole）已經過世，享壽81歲。

彼得奧圖拍過許多口碑載道的經典電影，其中代表力作當推1962年的「阿拉伯的勞倫斯」（Lawrence of Arabia），這部電影讓他飲譽全球。

肯尼斯說，彼得奧圖長期臥病，昨天在倫敦醫院病逝，1970年代他曾得過胃癌，但病癒。

他在聲明中說：「家人今天宣布彼得奧圖病逝的噩耗，他在醫院裡安詳的過世。」

肯尼斯指出，「他是最有才氣的演員之一，電影圈的巨人。」

舞台兼銀幕偶像的彼得奧圖，曾8度獲奧斯卡獎提名，但都與得獎擦身而過，最終在2003年獲頒奧斯卡終生成就獎。

彼得奧圖主演過的膾炙人口電影除阿拉伯的勞倫斯外，還有雄霸天下（Becket）、偷龍轉鳳（How to Steal a million）、將軍之夜（The Night of the Generals）、冬之獅（The Lion in Winter）、夢幻騎士（Man of La Mancha，1972）、統治階層（The Ruling Class）、特技演員（The Stunt Man）、金色年代（My Favorite Year）、末代皇帝（The Last Emperor ）等。
