孟洛 文學界譽為加拿大契可夫

瑞典學院以「當代短篇故事大師」稱譽加拿大女作家孟洛（Alice Munro），獲頒2013年諾貝爾文學獎。

82歲孟洛出生在加拿大安大略省文罕（Wingham），她最主要為人知的作品為短篇小說，有著清晰及心理寫實特色。

若干文學評論家將她視為加拿大的契可夫（Chekhov）。她經常以小鎮作為故事背景，其中的人物勉力爭取社會認同，結果導致人際關係緊張和道德衝突，這都是世代差異及生命期許矛盾所造成的問題。

孟洛現住在安大略省西南的克林頓（Clinton）。
