《2013世界小姐選美》大賽28日在印尼峇里島舉行，主辦單位動員大批警力維護治安，最後由菲律賓小姐Megan Young在130位佳麗中脫穎而出，拿到冠軍。

據報導，今年的世界小姐選美大賽受到恐怖威脅，伊斯蘭極端份子不斷抗議，抨擊選美比賽是物化女性，是「娼妓競賽」，還焚燒選美大賽會旗，要求停辦選美比賽，揚言要在決賽當天攻擊會場。

主辦單位對此十分緊張，取消了泳裝項目，試圖熄滅穆斯林的怒火，並將決賽場地由雅加達移到較多印度教信徒居住的峇里島，絕大多數的抗議者都無法登上峇里島。23歲的菲律賓小姐Megan Young同時是菲律賓知名女星，獲得「超級模特兒」項目，奪冠呼聲極高，最後也不負眾望拿下后冠。
