「南投國際超級鐵人3項」系列賽邁入第3年，比賽項目除了3公里的「日月潭泳渡」，14日清晨5時在埔里鎮地理中心碑前舉辦「武嶺自行車賽」，從海拔500公尺在短短50公里內爬升到2800公尺的武嶺，最後由比利時選手奪冠；國內好手楊茂雍獲第4名。

15日舉行「中潭公路馬拉松賽」，總里程100公里，三項總獎金逾百萬元，總成績第1名將可獲得30萬元獎金。
